off and away...
out the door tomorrow to cinncinnati, ohio. looking forward to visiting with my friend, nick. we had so much fun during the summer of 2000 and when he came to visit me in san marcos in 2001. we have shared lots of good times, most better than others. anyway, it's been a long since i have had his humor next to my side so it will be very refreshing. he's picking me up at the airport tomorrow night with his sister, whom i've never met. (just heard a lot about over the years). anyway, i leave tomorrow at 5:30 and will be flying back home on friday at 2:50. short but needed vacation.
got my grades back from the summer semester, 3.25 (a b and an a). i was pleased. picked up my books for fall semester today and will head back to school next monday. i am looking froward to having a full 3 months for my classes versus just a short 6 weeks. a little less intensive and hopefully i can actually LEARN the information rather than storing in my short term brain.
my birthday was successful, i spent most of the weekend moping aorund though. pathetic, i suppose - most people would kill to be my age. guess, i was just feeling sorry for myself. nonetheless, no need to really dwell on it - it's over now and lisa offered me some great advice- she said think of it this way, you will be really happy when you are 30. hmm, i think she is right. my stepbro and his gf came by yesterday and brought cake and sausage for my birthday. it was really thoughtful and i enjoyed spending the day with family.
speaking of which, i truly enjoyed her company this weekend at my home. it was great to spend a few days with her without having the added interruption of anything else. we went to bw3s in houston and that was fun. we totally dig trivia (even though she's a rockstar and i tend to lag behind..)
not much more news, things are going well for me. just enjoying a relaxing monday, without school or tests or anything reading todo but pure leisure.
take care everyone and Paddy - I hope you are having an absolute blast on your cruise. Thank you for the well wishes on saturday.
